Art Vannoy

Art is a painter and sculptor, he has a BFA from the Peck School of the Arts in Milwaukee. His style is one of a kind, what I like to lovingly refer to as contemporary pointillism.The last image is an example of his older work. It doesn't fit the style shown here but I had to add it because its obviously amazing. The following artworks are oil on canvas.

 

Rebecca Sykalski

I worked with Rebecca briefly at the Union Art Gallery at UWM. I knew her as a sculptor then, but just recently I've noticed these stunning acrylic and oil paintings on her facebook. Check them out.

 

Tom Pekovitch

Christina Gregor

I met Christina as my drawing professor at McHenry Community College in Illinois. Her soft colored drawings have a unique mixture of advanced craftsmanship and youthful content. Check out her site at the bottom to see installation work. Christina now lives and works in St. Louis.

Victoria Wallace

IN. LOVE. with Victoria Wallace's drawings. I've admired them from afar on facebook. Victoria graduated with a BFA from Peck School of the Arts. These pen and ink drawings come with witty phrases and subtle nudity to keep things spicy.

Anna Banwell

Anna is a local artist and art therapy graduate student at Mount Mary University. Anna partners up with Jeff Eckel to construct intricate mandala designs out of found objects, flowers, and other findings from nature.

Shannen Nelson

I work with Shannen Nelson at Splash Studio in Milwaukee's 3rd ward. She is currently going to school at MIAD. I'm in love with her abstract works. You can view more of Shannen's work here.

Josh Hunt

 I met Josh Hunt online through mutual friends from UW-Milwaukee. He graduated with a BFA from UW-Milwaukee in 2011 and is highly involved with the Boy Scouts of America and has been commissioned to make work by the organization. He works in pencil, charcoal, oil paint, cyanotype, and digital. This particular series evoking political discussion is my favorite of his.

Liam Maltz

It's been three years since I found Liam sitting on the side of Locust street peddling one of his amazing paintings. Milwaukee's only Liam Maltz and his disconnected ink figures. I just wish I had better pictures.

Kyle Seis

Kyle and I worked together at the Union Art Gallery briefly last year. A recent graduate of the Peck photo department, Kyle has been set free to start his career as a contemporary photographer. Peter Gehrig

I met Peter while he was working at the Union Art Gallery, one of four galleries associated with UW-Milwaukee. In this series Peter plays with oil technique to paint peculiarly composed pottery; and also the last image which just tickles me so much I had to post it.
