Bert Luna
Bert's work is energetic, dark and loaded with meaning the viewer can't quite decipher. It's second nature for me to apply my own meaning to the poetry, left with a reflection of myself mixed somewhere in the middle with the artist's intention. The following works are made using apple note and snapchat. I think his work is really interesting because the theme of social media, public vs. private, relieving stress, and hidden messages is actually pretty intertwined...

Drew Hall
Funny thing, I don't think I've spoken two words to this artist despite growing up in the same town. I discovered that Drew was a talented artist over social media. Drew works in oil and acrylic paint and dabbled in surrealism work as well as hyper realism. Examples of his work (new and older) are below, check him out on Instagram (link below).

Robin Luther
Robin and I go way back to McHenry County College, where the art was rich and plenty. Robin works in photography and is currently working as a visiting assistant professor at Hubei University of Technology in Wuhan, China. I saw Robin's art work featured in this blog post when it was exhibited at Greymatter Gallery in the Marshall Building of Historic Third Word in downtown Milwaukee.
The show was titled Population and show cases letters written by inmates of Menard Correctional Center, located in Chester, Illinois, juxtaposed with photographs taken of Chester. In the letters, inmates reflect on their hometown and what they miss most. Robin explores the inmates and their connections between past and present homes and family life.

Art Vannoy
Art is a painter and sculptor, he has a BFA from the Peck School of the Arts in Milwaukee. His style is one of a kind, what I like to lovingly refer to as contemporary pointillism. The last image is an example of his older work. It doesn't fit the style shown here but I had to add it because its obviously amazing. The following artworks are oil on canvas.

He graduated with a BFA from UW-Milwaukee in 2011 and is highly involved with the Boy Scouts of America and has been commissioned to make work by the organization.
