Robin and I go way back to McHenry County College, where the art was rich and plenty. Robin works in photography and is currently working as a visiting assistant professor at Hubei University of Technology in Wuhan, China. I saw Robin's art work featured in this blog post when it was exhibited at Greymatter Gallery in the Marshall Building of Historic Third Word in downtown Milwaukee.
The show was titled
Population and show cases letters written by inmates of Menard Correctional Center, located in Chester, Illinois, juxtaposed with photographs taken of Chester. In the letters, inmates reflect on their hometown and what they miss most. Robin explores the inmates and their connections between past and present homes and family life.
